Board of Examiners

The Board of Examiners (BoE, 'Examencommissie' in Dutch) of FPN is an independent committee  and is e.g.  responsible for

  • the quality of exams and assessments;
  • granting the diploma’s for the bachelor’s and master’s programmes;
  • assessing requests and questions concerning  the Education and Examination Regulations (EER) and Rules and Regulations. 

 


Announcement Holiday period

Unfortunately, the Board of Examiners cannot respond to your questions in AskPsy.nl within two working days. We will do our best to respond as soon as possible, but during the holiday period, this may take longer. We apologize for the inconvenience! However, we can provide you with information on the following topics:

1. Bachelor

1.1 Graduation

If you have passed on July 5 2019, your last exam (Psychodiagnostics), keep in mind that the results will be published within 15 working days after the exam took place. This will be on July 26 2019 at the latest. Subsequently it will be checked if you have passed all the requirements in order to graduate. This means that you will be informed in the week of August 5 2019 (week 32) whether you have been graduated.   
If you will pass August 5 2019, your last exam (Psychodiagnostics), keep in mind that the results will be published within 15 working days after the exam took place. This will be on August 26 2019 at the latest. Subsequently it will be checked if you have passed all the requirements in order to graduate.  You will be informed before the start of the new academic year (2019-2020), whether you have been graduated.  

1.2 Study Advice

If you will pass the norm of 42 ECTS including Statistics I or Methods and Techniques, based on the results from the re-sits, which have taken place from July 8 till 12 2019, keep in mind that the results will be published within 15 working days after the exam took place. This will be on August 2 2019  the latest. Subsequently it will be checked if you have passed the abovementioned norm. This means that you will receive in the week of August 5 2019 (week 32) your study advice.  In case, you have not passed the norm, you will be informed in writing that the Faculty Board is intending to issue a negative study advice. In this letter the possibility will be offered to you, to attend the hearing of the BSA-Committee, which will take place on August 20 19.
If you will pass the norm of 42 ECTS including Statistics I or Methods and Techniques, based on the results from the re-sit (Evolution and Genetics for Psychology), which will take place on August 5 2019, keep in mind that the results will be published within 15 working days after the exam took place. This will be on August 26 2019, the latest. Subsequently it will be checked if you have passed the abovementioned norm. You will receive before the start of the new academic year (2019-2020) your study advice.  In case, you have not passed the norm, you will be informed in writing that the Faculty Board is intending to issue a negative study advice. In this letter the possibility will be offered to you, to attend the hearing of the BSA-Committee. The date for this hearing is not set yet, but will be announced in the letter.

2. Master

2.1 Graduation

If you submit your last work (master’s thesis) on August 31 2019, and your supervisors grade your thesis and submit the assessment to the educational office within 20 working days, your graduation will be set to August 31 2019 (provided that you meet all other requirements to graduate). Graduation takes place retrospectively. This means that you will be informed at the latest in the week of October 7 2019 (week 41) whether you have been graduated.

Requests

For requesting exemption, compensation or electives abroad you can use the standard forms.  Those can be sent in via AskPsy.

If you want to address another official request to the BoE, please note that you have to motivate your request. In an official request you ask the BoE to take a decision.

You have to hand in your request in hard copy at the Service Desk or send it to the BoE. Requests submitted by email will not be accepted.  Requests will be processed within four weeks. In special circumstances this term can be extended by another 4 weeks. You will receive an acknowledgement of receipt. An answer to your request will be send to your student and personal e-mail address.

Complaints

If you have a complaint regarding a decision made by an examiner or by the BoE you will have to submit this complaint via the Complaint Service Point of the UM, within six weeks after the decision has been announced. It is also possible to contact the BOE prior to this. Please note that in cases of a dispute regarding exam results, you will have to attend the Exam Inspection, before you lodge an appeal.

Forms/Statements
The Board fills out the forms of the Bafög (German Study Funding) and provides several statements and documents about your (future) graduation.
